Matthew Eyre

Matthew Eyre

CEO

Dr. Matthew Eyre is a part-time Associate Professor and senior academic in Mining Engineering at the Camborne School of Mines (CSM), University of Exeter. He provides strategic leadership across academic programs, research initiatives, and industry engagement, advancing the institution’s reputation as a global leader in mining education and innovation.

Matthew specialises in the digital transformation of mining operations, particularly the application of AI and data-driven technologies to optimise performance in both surface and underground contexts. His work emphasises practical, scalable solutions that help mining and quarrying operations achieve greater efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

KMO Fleet: Innovation in Accessible Digital Optimisation
In 2022, Matthew and the other directors founded KMO Fleet, a purpose-built AI-based fleet management system designed to offer digital optimisation services for mining and quarrying operations. KMO provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional OEM fleet management platforms, enabling operations of all sizes to access advanced analytics, real-time tracking, and AI-enhanced decision-making tools. From its inception, KMO was developed to deliver digital twin functionality and integrated fleet optimisation, making cutting-edge capabilities accessible to sites without the capital outlay of proprietary systems.
